"When you go into the woods and you look at the trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them evergreens and some of them are - whatever. And you look at the tree, and you just allow it. You appreciate it. You see why it is the way it is, you sort of understand that it didn't get enough light, and so it turned that way, and you don't get all emotional about it, you just allow it. You appreciate the tree. The minute you get near humans, you lose all that, and you're constantly saying, "You're too this," or "I'm too this," or - that judging mind comes in. And so I practice turning people into trees, which means appreciating them just the way they are." ~Ram Dass~

Good evening dear ones. Today's quote is one of my favorites. It is a truth about the world that hits hard every time I see it. We don't tell a tree it's too crooked, and we don't tell a flower that it's color is too bright or dull. So, why do people feel the need to tell each other they are too much, or too little of something? Why do people feel the need to tell someone that they shouldn't live their life on their own terms? As a society we are quick to judge, and slow to acknowledge our own faults. We make assumptions based on someone's appearance, their life choices, race, or gender. We don't take the time consider what their differences might bring to the table. Differences are what make this world a better place, and give a new perspective to life.

Rather than using your time to judge someone, get to know them. Try to understand a little bit about who they are, and they might surprise you. You might learn that you have more in common then you first thought, and you might find a genuine soul connection. Taking the time to get to know someone could give you the friendship that will last a lifetime.

Be good to yourselves and to each other my loves. Be Kind, Be Peace, and Be Love. Yesterday is past and tomorrow isn't promised. Live and love for today. - Live - Laugh - Love - Namaste
