"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson~

Good evening dear ones. I see many memes on the internet that say 'In a world full of... Be a ...' After each sentence, put in your choice of celebrity. While I understand the intent of these memes, to a point, I think they can be, and are damaging. Instead, I think it should read 'In a world full of people telling you who to be... Be a YOU'.

The world is constantly telling us to be someone else, we have to fight to just be who we are. All across social media, advertisements on TV, magazine articles, we are told how to 'have the perfect body', 'perfect hair', or 'make him/her want you by doing this'. We are told that we won't be happy unless we have that perfection. We are told that we need to do certain things, to be a certain way, to make a man/woman want us or love us. What they don't tell you, is that it is more important for you to love who you are. It is more important to be your most authentic self, and find happiness with your uniqueness.

My loves, you are a brilliant, beautiful soul all on your own. You don't need the prettiest hair, or the hottest bod to fully realize the love, and joy you possess. You may need to dig a little deeper, but I promise you, it is worth finding that wonderful shine that is all your own. Show the world who you truly are and show yourself what you've been missing. Burn bright like the stars, and light up the darkness around you.

Be good to yourselves and one another my darlings. Life is far too short to be bitter, and angry. Far too short to let others tell you, who you are, and how you should live. Be kind, Be Peace, and Be love. Yesterday is past, and tomorrow isn't promised. Live and love for today. - Live - Laugh - Love - Namaste
