"Above all, watch with glittering eyes the world around you, because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it." ~Roald Dahl~
Good morning dear ones. Do you remember what it was like as a child? Waking up to see snow on the ground, or watching it fall from the sky. Seeing the twinkling lights of holiday decorations that people put up on and in their houses. The delight of helping to make cookies, and other goodies and tasting that sweetness for the first time. Getting out of bed on Christmas morning, and rushing to see what Santa left under the tree.
This time of year used to bring joy, and simple pleasures to many. Now, with all the commercialization, it seems the world has lost the meaning and the true spirit of what the holiday season is all about. People are so focused on getting the great deals, or the latest gadgets and gizmos that they lose sight of what the real gifts are. Family, making memories, and time.
I remember many times where my children spent more time playing with boxes that the toys came in, rather than the toys themselves. They let their imaginations run wild, and those boxes became something that brought sheer joy, especially if I joined in with them. These days, they certainly like their games and such, but they still enjoy it if I play along. There are games that we play together, and the happiness it brings them is worth it all. I need only to look at the smile on their faces to see that it is the time I spend with them that really makes the moment.
I hope you take the time to spend with your loved ones this holiday season, no matter what holiday you celebrate. I also hope that you take the true spirit of it with you through the year. Be good to yourselves and one another my loves. Be Kind, Be Peace, and Be Love. Yesterday is past and tomorrow isn't promised. Live and Love for today. -Live - Laugh - Love -
