In An Instant

"Life is too short... and nothing is certain. Nothing. Just because you tell someone you'll talk to them later, or you'll see them tomorrow, there is no guarantee that either of those things will happen. You hope they will. Hell, we all assume they will. But we don't really know. Life can change in an instant. A single instant." ~Author: J. Sterling~

Good evening dear ones. I am not usually up this late but for some reason this needed to be written. The words 'In an instant' have been running through my brain preventing me from drifting off to sleep. So, here I am putting my thoughts into words as best I can.

Several years ago, in an instant, I saw one of the strongest women I knew become reliant on others to dress her, bathe her, feed her, and put her to bed. A stroke took most of her ability to do anything, and a couple months later she was gone. My boys lost their Nama to a battle with COVID at the beginning of this year, which came as a shock since we just saw her a couple months prior. A few months ago someone I worked with lost his life to a road rage incident. He is gone and his absence has left a void in the lives of many. It happened in an instant. I have had family members diagnosed with cancer and within months they lost their battle. It all seemed to happen... in an instant.

Earlier this week, I almost lost my mother to a massive heart attack and in an instant my life would have changed, my world would have turned upside down and sideways. My mind is still reeling at what could have been but I keep trying to remind myself to stay in the now, stay in this minute, in this instant.

My loves, our lives can change so fast. Please remember that the pandemic isn't the only issue we face. Violence, hate, and other diseases still exist and life can end in the blink of an eye. Take care of yourselves and each other as we truly don't know what tomorrow will bring. Cherish all the lives you touch as all life has value. Hold tight to your loved ones and love with all of your heart. Do not take a single day for granted. Be Kind, Be Peace, and Be Love. Yesterday is past and tomorrow isn't promised. Live and Love for today. - Live - Laugh - Love - Namaste
