"I think the best thing we can do for our children is to allow them to do things for themselves, allow them to be strong, allow them to experience life on their own terms, allow them to take the subway... let them be better people, let them believe more in themselves." ~C. JoyBell C.~

Good evening dear ones. Watching your children grow can be the happiest years of your life, as well as the most difficult. We are there for their first words, their first steps, their first day of school. We are there for the hurts, and the heartbreaks. Seeing our children grow from babies to grown men and women, and gain their independence is both wonderful and terrifying. Although I know it is a rite of passage, and necessary for growth (mine and his) I am scared of letting go.

My youngest is taking another step into the big wide world, and it has my NMS (Nervous Mom Syndrome) kicking into overdrive. He may be a little later than most taking this particular step, but it is no less difficult. Both of my boys are the lights of my life, and I don't know where I'd be without them. However, I know that the time has come for at least one of them, to move forward. I don't know where this will lead him, or me for that matter, but I do know that it is certainly for the best. It is time for me to let go, and let him be who he was meant to be. It's time to let him fly.

My loves, remember your children are only small for a short time, and it is so important to hold them close for as long as you can. Spend time with them, and show them every day how much you love them. Give them memories that will last a lifetime. Share with them your hopes and dreams, and let them share theirs with you. Encourage those dreams, and help them to follow them. The greatest gift you can ever give them... is TIME.

Be good to yourselves, and each other. Never let a day go by without telling your loved ones how you feel. Life is too short, and time is fleeting. Be Kind, Be Peace, and Be Love. Yesterday is past and tomorrow isn't promised. Live and love for today. - Live - Laugh - Love - Namaste
