"If there is to be peace in the world, there must be peace in the nations. If there is to be peace in the nations, there must be peace in the cities. If there is to be peace in the cities, there must be peace between neighbors. If there is to be peace between neighbors, there must be peace in the home. If there is to be peace in the home, there must be peace in the heart." ~Lao Tzu~
Good morning dear ones. Words cannot truly express how I feel right now, but I will try. A mixture of emotions are warring inside and it is difficult to focus on just one. There is anger that racism still exists in this world and to such an extreme that another senseless murder has taken place. I am disgusted that many people who are kind, intelligent, and love are still being treated as second class citizens or sometimes less than human because of the color of their skin. Sadness fills my heart when I see a beautiful light snuffed out because of someone's ignorance and hatred for those who aren't like them. Weariness plagues my soul when cruelty, fear, and violence is seen everywhere I look and numbness to it all threatens to take over. THIS IS NOT NORMAL! It never has been and will NEVER BE!
As I sit here shedding tears for a man I never knew, I know in my heart that I cannot allow this to continue. However, I also know that I cannot change people, only they can make the change. What I can do, is let this be a reminder of what I NEVER want to become and stand up for what is right even if I stand alone. I will never be able to understand what it is like for black men and women in this country. I only see the injustice and damage that is being done as it makes the news. I've seen and heard people voice their prejudice against them and I have never understood why. I still don't. The fear and hate is unwarranted, and shouldn't be tolerated. These things are taught and should no longer be in anyone's curriculum in the school of Life.
My loves, be good to yourselves and each other. Lets remind ourselves and others that we are all in this together and Love is what will see us through. Make a stand against fear, hate, and injustice. Take the hands of those who have fallen and help lift them up. Show the world that kindness still lives. Life is far too short to let this madness continue. Be Kind, Be Peace, and Be Love. Yesterday is past and tomorrow isn't promised. Live and love for today. - Live - Laugh - Love - Namaste
