"In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility." ~Eleanor Roosevelt~

"Children need to learn to take responsibility for their actions, so they do not become adults who believe nothing is ever their fault." ~Unknown~

Good evening dear ones. Today I saw a response to a post that really set my teeth on edge. What it all boiled down to was, blame for violent action was thrown onto something, instead of the person who committed the act. Stop. Stop putting the blame elsewhere. It doesn't matter what they watch, what they play, or what they listen to. It doesn't matter whether someone was raised by one parent, two parents, foster parents, or adoptive parents. What matters is what they were taught, how they were raised, and ultimately the choices they make in life.

I have known some people who were raised in crappy homes, but grew up to be the sweetest people. They CHOSE to be kind. They CHOSE to not be like what they grew up watching. I've also known some who had the kindest parents, who doted on them, and shown them endless love. They CHOSE to be violent. They also CHOSE to not be like what they grew up watching. More often than not, people in the world today are not taking responsibility for their own actions. Society seems to refuse to make these offenders take on real consequences for the crimes they commit.

Guns don't kill people, neither do knives. Poison, bombs, baseball bats, none of these things are able to harm anyone without someone using it. Clothes don't make men force themselves on women. Clothes don't make grown adults force themselves on young children. No higher power makes you a good person, any more than a demon, or the devil makes you commit an act of pure evil. It is said that light and darkness resides in us all, although I would prefer to call it good and evil. Light isn't always pure, and darkness isn't always wrong, and there will always be a need for balance. Which way will you go? What will drive you on your path? Will you take the responsibility of what you do in your life, or will you throw the blame elsewhere? The choice... is yours.

Take a moment to reflect my loves. Let your hearts guide you, and search your soul. Be good to one another and yourselves. Life is too short for bitterness, anger, and hate. Love lives here my darlings, and I hope it finds its way to you. Be good to yourselves and one another. Be Kind, Be Peace, and Be love. Yesterday is past and tomorrow isn't promised. Live and love for today. - Live - Laugh - Love - Namaste
