“If we understood the power of our thoughts, we would guard them more closely. If we understood the awesome power of our words, we would prefer silence to almost anything negative. In our own thoughts and words, we create our own weakness and our own strengths. Our limitations and joys begin in our hearts. We can always replace negative with positive.” ~Betty Eadie~

Good evening, dear ones. Do you remember the saying ‘Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me’? Words in a dictionary aren’t necessarily painful, but if we use those words to put ourselves or someone else down, that changes things. I am sure most of us have said some not so nice things to ourselves or others. It never feels good and as much as I've tried to ignore the words of others, it hurts. However, I have also talked down to myself, never giving it a second thought until just a few years ago.

You may not think it matters how we talk to ourselves but it does. Before you call yourself a name or criticize your looks, stop for a moment and ask yourself if you would say it to someone you love. If the answer is no, then don't say it to yourself. Learning to compliment yourself and showing yourself some kindness will go a long way in the journey of self-love. Speaking kindness to yourself can also help change your thought patterns. I know from my own experience it isn't an easy thing to do but I am trying. Sometimes I look at myself in the mirror and make it a point to say something nice to my reflection. If I see something I like about someone I mention it, and I hope that it at least makes them smile.

My loves, this world needs more kindness. A kind word, a good deed, or even a simple smile could go a long way in making someone's day. Take a moment to show someone you care, even if that someone is yourself. You deserve happiness and you are worthy of so much love. Be good to yourselves and each other. Please remember that you are amazing and I love you. Be Kind, Be love, and Be peace. Yesterday is past and tomorrow isn't promised. Live and love for today. - Live - Laugh - Love - Namaste
